Minority
Scientists Network
The Minority Scientists Network (MiSciNet), from ScienceCareers.org,
specifically targets African American, Native American, and Latino students. MiSciNet perceives
undergraduate years as the most vulnerable time in the training of minority scientists
and, therefore, has placed its focus on undergraduates — especially
those transitioning from 2-year to 4-year colleges and from undergraduate
to graduate education. MiSciNet's main
objective has been the wide dissemination of information about best practices.
For teachers and administrators, MiSciNet propagates information on recruitment
and retention. For students, it provides inspiration, stimulation, and
guidance on succeeding as early-stage scientific trainees
